About Us

Pesoloan (pesoloan.app) is an independent information and comparison website for people in the Philippines who are thinking about borrowing money online. We explain how online lending apps work, we check public records, and we put clear facts in one place so you can decide before you share your ID, phone permissions or bank details with any lender.

We are not a lender. We do not approve loans, process applications, collect payments or hold any money. We are also not affiliated with the Pesoloan app or with Masaganang Buhay Finance Philippines Corporation, the company that operates it. We write about that app because many Filipino borrowers search for it by name and want to know whether it is registered, how much it costs and what other borrowers report.

Why this website exists

Online lending is part of daily life in the Philippines. A quick loan can help with a medical bill, a school expense or a gap before payday. It can also become a heavy burden when the terms are unclear, when interest and fees pile up, or when collection becomes abusive. Over the past several years the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued rules on registration, interest and fees, data privacy and fair debt collection, and it has published lists and advisories about recorded and unrecorded lending platforms. The information is public, but it is spread across circulars, lists, news reports and social media posts, and it is not always easy to read.

Our job is to gather that information, read it carefully and explain it in plain English. We want a borrower who reads one of our pages to leave with three things: a clear answer to the question they asked, an honest note about what is documented and what is only claimed, and a practical next step.

What we cover

How we work

We follow a written editorial policy. In short:

  1. We start from primary sources, such as SEC lists, circulars and advisories, and the lender's own published documents.
  2. We label every important statement as documented (we can point to a record) or reported (individual users say so, and we cannot confirm it).
  3. When we write about complaints or harassment, we say plainly what is publicly available and link to it. We do not claim that a lender did something unless a reliable record says so, and we do not hide public complaints either.
  4. We separate lookalike names. Several apps and companies use names close to one another, and warnings about one are often wrongly attached to another.
  5. We correct mistakes quickly. If you find an error, tell us at admin@pesoloan.app and we will review it.

Our articles are written by the Pesoloan Editorial Team. You can read about how the team works on our author page.

Who this website is for

What we do not do

About the name

The site is named Pesoloan because the name matches the topic of most of our articles. This is a common source of confusion, so we say it clearly: pesoloan.app is an independent website, and the Pesoloan lending app is a separate product. If you want to use the lending app, you should do so only through its official store listing and check the company yourself. Our guide on how to check if a lending app is SEC registered shows how.

A note on accuracy

Rules, rates and company details change. We do our best to keep articles accurate, but we cannot promise that every detail is current at the moment you read it. Always check the SEC's website and the disclosure statement shown inside a lending app before you borrow. Our disclaimer explains the limits of what we publish, and our terms of use explain how you may use this website.

How we are funded

Some of the third-party links on this website may be tracked links, and we may receive compensation from some third parties if a visitor applies through them. This does not affect how we assess lenders, and we explain it in full on our affiliate disclosure page. Our research, our wording and our corrections are not for sale.

Contact us

Questions, corrections and reports of misuse of our name are welcome. You can reach us through our contact page or by email at admin@pesoloan.app. We read every message, although we cannot give personal financial advice or intervene in a dispute between you and a lender. If you are being harassed by a collector, our guide on debt collection rules and your rights explains where to report it, including the SEC, the National Privacy Commission and the police.

Our commitment to readers

We try to write for the person who is worried at ten at night because a message just arrived about an overdue loan. That person needs facts, calm and a clear next step, not hype. We will keep reading the rules, checking the records and updating our pages so that the information on Pesoloan stays useful, fair and easy to understand.

What readers tell us they find most useful

Readers often tell us that three habits make the biggest difference: checking the company name and SEC number before installing an app, reading the disclosure statement and taking a screenshot of it before accepting a loan, and keeping every payment receipt until a loan is closed. These habits cost nothing, and they protect you whichever lender you choose. We repeat them across our articles because they work.

If this website helps you avoid a bad loan, or helps you handle one calmly, it is doing what we built it to do. Thank you for reading, and please share our guides with someone who might need them.
